Psychotherapists, who provide mental health services, and clinical psychologists, who carry out all of the laboratory research necessary to understand the mind are the two major specialties. There are many subfields of psychology that include different types of psychology like evolutionary psychology and mathematical psychology as well as social psychology, neuropsychology, psychology of feelings, psychological of feelings, socio psychology, abnormal psychology and social psychology.

Prerequisites for becoming a Marriage psychologist

To become a psychologist, you must first discover your passion for the field. Psychology is not for everyone. Only those who are interested in human behavior and psychology can pursue it. It is nearly impossible to gather all the necessary prerequisites for psychology. It is important to start high school if you want to be a psychologist. Psychology careers require a solid foundation of science and math, including chemistry, biology, mathematics, and physics.

You can choose any degree that suits your goals and objectives. Associate or bachelor's degrees are sufficient to be an assistant to a psychologist. However, if you are looking to become a professional psychologist on your own, you will need to obtain a doctorate in psychology. A Ph.D. degree in psychology allows you to work as a teacher, counselor, or researcher. All states require that every psychologist hold a license before they can start working as a professional psychologist. All psychologists are licensed by the licensing boards in every state.
